Brodie Retallick

One of my favourite new players, Brodie Retallick from the Chiefs, has been called into the first All Blacks training squad of 2012. Everyone was worried about the Chiefs tight forwards at the beginning of the year, but players like Retallick and Ben Tameifuna are proving the critics wrong!

Brodie Retallick is the tallest professional rugby player in New Zealand, which makes him a good lineout target. However, it’s his work around the park that has probably got him noticed. He’s one of the fittest tight forwards in the country and has a huge work ethic. Let’s face it though, he looks like he’s from the goonies!

Retallick has signed on to the Chiefs and Bay of Plenty for the next two years, which suits me just fine. He’s originally from Canterbury, but heavens knows how they let him slip through their fingers. Hopefully the Chiefs have what it takes to keep him because he is going to be playing at the upper echelons of the game of rugby union for many years to come.

Check out the Brodie Retallick player profile to learn more about him. One thing is for sure, you better keep an eye on him - he is a New Zealand player of the future!
